Florence, Italy
John, our bus driver, brought us to the train station where we rode the train into Florence. I was especially excited to explore Florence because my college roommate studied abroad here in Spring of 2025. She gave us some great recommendations including Strawberry Gelato at La Strega Nocciola and climbing the Duomo!

Train to Florence
We had lunch at Forno Sartoni. We actually passed this on our walking tour and they were giving out free bread. Since it was busy we ended up eating on the street.

Megan's authentic Italian Leather Purse! Bea taught us how to bargain for it, so we tried our best and saved some money!
Gelato after climbing the duomo. (If you couldn't tell from how red our faces are)
Diana (TN) got her daughter the same purse that Megan had picked out!

FUN FACT
Our local guide explained that these windows are called "Buchette del vino," which means wine windows in Italian

Climbing the Duomo
After being highly rated by my roommate Addie, we decided to spend a part of our day climbing the duomo. A total of 463 steps... yep you heard that right. I'm not going to lie, I was a little concerned because I wasn't in the best physical shape. It was definitely not easy and people had to stop in the openings but we made it with plenty of time to take in the view! (After the time allotted has passed you have to start making your way back down, so ust be diligent about timing so you can enjoy the view at the top)

Peep the mini mic Megan got to vlog the trip!
Here we go! Caution to anyone who is claustrophobic, this probably isn't the activity for you. It was pretty snug in here (as you can see by the two photos to the left) You could also only walk one way.

We Made It!
It was a pretty hot day but overall not too bad! Obviously it ended with a pretty great view!
