Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland

We made it to Lauterbrunnen! We did not see a single bad view here, which means lots of pictures were taken! The hotel was very cute and in the center of everything. We got the rooms on the second floor so we had the large balcony. The first night we also went to the waterfall nearby where we were able to get behind the water in a cave. Also you can't forget the vending machine with fresh swiss cheese!

The hike
Bea offered to take anyone who was interested on a hike the next day, or you had the day to yourself to explore. We were very excited to do the hike and my mom was especially looking forward to seeing the cows! The hike was pretty long, and ended up tracking to be 8 miles! But, I know I've already said this many times on the website, but this was seriously my favorite part of the trip! The pictures don't do the view justice!!
FUN FACT

FUN FACT
Swiss cows spend their summers in the Alps grazing high-altitude pastures. The cows wear bells that come in all shapes and sizes, with some even weighing over 10lbs and costing over $2,000.

A few miles into our hike, we stopped at a little shop. We got strawberry yogurt and cheese made from the cows in the Alps! It was the best yogurt I've ever had! Highly suggest.

We got to see people paragliding at the very end of our hike! For me, I think I would be too nervous but I'm sure the experience is great!

Megan with her pink, engraved swiss army knife!

It was so nice to sit on the porch after dinner and people watch! Couldn't have a better view for some crocheting on a summer night in Switzerland!
Mom and Megan had cheese fondue for dinner. Dad and Caroline had Rösti with egg, Swiss cheese, pickles, and meat. One of my favorite meals of the trip! Also, would suggest wearing sunscreen if you are doing a long hike, even if it doesn't feel hot because we got burnt!
